Merga RZ is een rond knolselderijras met gladde schil. Van binnen is hij wit, van goede kwaliteit en met een klein gaatje. De bladeren zijn sterk, waardoor dit ras geschikt is om met blad te oogsten voor een mooie presentatie in de kist. 

Merga RZ is geschikt voor de industrie en de versmarkt. Het ras is sterk tegen schot  en heeft een hoge opbrengst. Het is zeer geschikt voor de vroege plantingen. Merga RZ kan gebruikt worden voor korte bewaring.
